Konami release first SAW trailer – After it was announced yesterday Konami have today released a teaser trailer for the upcoming SAW game. It teases us to find out more about the game at Konami’s game night on April 9th. We recommend checking it out for yourself at Joystiq.
Lips mics get update and compatibility – It was today announced that the microphones for Xbox 360 game Lips will be fully compatible with Guitar Hero: Metallica and a patch for Rock Band 2 will be released in the summer. It looks like they’re becoming more popular for all games and it looks good to see those expensive and rather nice mics being put to good use.
Play TV updated – Playstations Play TV, the freeview box for your PS3 has had an update today. New features include new fast forward and re-wind speeds, new volume control settings and more importantly, a new SD upscaler with a direct-to-TV option.

The Day (or 4) in General – 2/3/09
Now the news has been a little slow this week, we’ve been trying so hard to get the reviews pushed out (Golden Axe still to come) so we’re going to try and bring you up to speed on the week in one little report.
PS2 price drop announced – Everybody thought it would be a PS3 price cut and it was announced untrue. It was partly correct though. The 9 year old Playstation 2 has recieved a price cut. Cutting down to just $99 or £67 GBP. It seems Sony are desperate to keep up in all the 7th gen consoles but will the price drop be enough?
Xbox Live update has no features – This afternoon the Xbox Live team launched a new system update for the Xbox 360 console. Major Nelson stated today that it brings “no new features” and is in fact to cut out lag on a few games. Check out the ck out out the full article on his blog here
Konami gain SAW license – Industry giant Konami have announced that they will be getting a license to make a SAW video game. It’s expected to hit one the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC this Autumn alongside SAW VI.
Activision has high hopes for MW2 – Activision have said that they have high hopes for the upcoming game Modern Warfare 2. The company hopes that it will be the “Biggest selling video game of all time” beating both Call of Duty 4 and Call of Duty: World at War.
Mass Effect 2 cuts loading times – Bioware have announced that their upcoming game Mass Effect 2 will have much shorter loading times as it will utilise a new system. They say that elevator loading will now become “part of the game experience”. Anyway, shorter loading times can only be a good thing.
PS3 to get 16 player text chat – Sony have announced that in firmware update 2.70 you will be able to use a whole new 16 player text chat system. You can also sort your friends into either time last online, online status or alphabetically. You will also be able to send files upto 3MB in size to your friends now!
Well, we covered what we could, come back for more news, hopefully tomorrow!
Fallout 3 Review
Well as promised we did it! We reviewed Fallout 3!
Look under the reviews link to see it, open up to see the whole thing! We hope you enjoy and if your still on the fence after all this time hopefully it can help you make your decision.
Make sure you check it out! I’d also like to apologise that it’s late, we had some problems with getting it uploaded, we hope to have a Guitar Hero: Metallica Demo review soon, no date but we hope to follow it up with a review of the full game!
Call of Duty is no longer erm… Call of Duty
It seems that the sequel to Infinity Ward’s smash hit game Call of Duty 4 is not going to be called Call of Duty.
Activision have announced that the Modern Warfare series derived from Call of Duty 4 will now become an independent series. They claim that the success rate was so high that it has strong grounds to become and independent series and so the name has been shortened to just Modern Warfare.
Treyarch are now in charge of the Call of Duty series which will most probably mean WWII all the way. Whether this is a good move or a bad move it means we’re likely to see some top-notch modern games in conjunction with the bes selling Call of duty Game.
Of course we will keep you updated with both series as the news comes!
The Day in General – 27/3/09
There wasn’t much to post yesterday so we didn’t but today theres plenty to report!
New Fable II DLC confirmed – The next piece of Fable II DLC was confrimed today and is called “See the Future”. It is set to hit in Spring so will arrive in just a few weeks and is said to tie up the loose ends between Fable I and Fable II. Apparently it will also leave us with clues about the future of the Fable story. Fable III perhaps? Anyway, we’re set to see some big things from Lionhead at E3 09.
Mass Effect 2 is more of a shooter – Mass Effect 2 has had a few updates today. Firstly it has been announced that the second installment will hold much more of a shooter element than it’s predecessor but will still remain as an RPG. Bioware have also said that Mass Effect 2 will have amuch less repetetive planet travel system. Finally, we have been told not to delete our saves! The teaser trailer apparently shows Shepard as dead but we have been told, with no reason, to hold on to out original saves.
Left 4 Dead hit 2.5m – Valve have recently announced that the online smash hit Left 4 Dead has sold over 2.5 million copies! This figure is for both PC and Xbox 360 sales combined. we highly recommend buying this if you haven’t already, especially with the new FREE Survival DLC set to hit next month.
Resi 5 gets NEW trophies – Upon the release of a new patch for the Playstation 3 version of Resident Evil 5, ten new trophies have been added to the list. All of these are related the the Multiplayer DLC. The DLC has been delayed until the 9th of April though so you’ll have to wait before you go unlocking them!
That’s it for today, we have Fallout 3 and Golden Axe reviews planned for the weekend so keep coming back and looking for it on the front page.
Exciting New CoD:Modern Warfare trailer!
Infinity Ward and Activision have released and exciting new teaser trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
The trailer displays what seems to be an airport, some rather well dressed people and is later followed on by a destroyed city. The sound is a must if you want to fully enjoy the trailer though.
Check it out at www.modernwarfare2.com and post your thoughts. We’ll allow comments for this exciting new release!
By the way, if for whatever reason you can’t watch the trailer; November 10th 2009.
The Day in General – 25/3/09
Today goes as follows
The Pitt Returns! – Players of the Xbox 360 and Fallout 3 may have been eagerly awaiting the second piece of DLC entitled “The Pitt” If you were lucky (or not) enough to download it before it was remover you will have met a few bugs including large exclamation marks around the map. The cause was a corrupted file but today we see the full version released! Priced at 800MSP it looks to be a good piece of DLC for any Fallout 3 player. We’ll be sure to tell you our thoughts at the weekend!
Guitar Hero: World Tour coming to PC! – The hit seller Guitar Hero: World Tour is set to come to the PC gamers this June! The game will include the full tracklist and Music creator from the console version although the music sharing feature “GHTunes” is being stripped. It’s good to see the PC gamers getting such a great game! We’ll keep you updated on this and other Guitar Hero games as the news comes!
Wii gets SD card menu – The new Nintendo Wii update is here today and it brings brand new SD card features! You will now be able to store games to and SD card and run them using your Wii. This looks to be a good feature for the Wii and will hopefully open new boundaries. We’ll see what happens and obviously keep you up to date with all Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 updates.
Thanks for reading, come back tomorrow for another update!
Write for us!
We’re looking for enthusiastic writers to update the website with reviews and previews! We need people who are fresh, new and intelligent with their own personal writing style!
What are the requirements? There are no requirements as such. All we ask is that you write in a mature style with your own little twist. You will be required to write something regularly but it won’t take over your life, it’s just a little thing to do maybe once a month.
What’s in it for me? Unfortunately as the website is no profit we can’t pay you for what you write. Although we are a small website with a currently very low profile writing reviews is the perfect opportunity just to share your work and maybe even get noticed by other people who can offer you a better place on another website. Of course this will require you to share your work with potentially big people.
So whatever your age, gender or gaming style, we want you to write for us!
To apply, e-mail me at leerobson-badger666@live.com with a sample review. You will be contacted back soon after.
Thanks, Sausage

The Day in General – 20/3/09
So, Today we have…
- Capcom Investigate Other Platforms – It seems that the upcoming title Lost Planet 2 won’t be and Xbox 360 exclusive. In an interview, main man Jun Takeuchi said “We are currently investigating other platforms”. Hopefully a solid answer will come out soon.
- Guitar Hero: Metallica Demo – The 1.02 download hit the Xbox Live marketplace today. This should show off the new interface, songs and maybe even the new difficulty “Expert Plus”. Demo review coming soon!
- Lost and Damned outsells Killzone – The smash hit DLC GTA IV: The Lost and Damned has been described as the best DLC ever launched and despite the release date difference has been calculated to have outsold Sony’s killer Killzone 2. This is no real suprise though as it is GTA we’re talking about
So, thats the big news for today, come back for more, tomorrow and don’t forget to look out for the Guitar Hero: Metallica Demo review.
